The Perry Bible Fellowship
One of the best comics of all time!...oooh, that's a big call, I know (but I'm that kind of guy). For me, easily up there with Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County/ Opus (well, anything by Berkley Breathed), and the Far Side...
Artist/Creator/Film-maker Nick Gurewitch has created a comic with no recurring characters, seemingly random themes, and fantastic artwork which is rendered in a multitude of styles from strip to strip (sometimes, it even varies in the one strip!)...oh, to have such a variety of art direction in my own repertoire would be sublime!..oh well...
...and it's frickin' hilarious to boot!...a strange humour, that in three panels (sometimes four) can traverse the spectrum from cheerfully wholesome to downright morbid (sometimes horrific, but funnily so).....still, it's the kind of 'morbid' that warms my heart...
One of the only comics that genuinely provokes a sound to cross my lips, be it a hearty chuckle, or a thigh slapping guffaw.
