I'm a newbie at the Twitter phenomenon...but I'm addicted! (I'm all about about the shiny-shiny...). I first saw this at the flailing girl's, and gave it a go...
You say "extreme-banality-supreme"?...I say "Micro-Blogging". At 140 characters per post, some people might feel a little constrained (but hey, I know not a few people who need constraining...). And I'm finding it surprisingly interesting reading granular snippets of complete strangers' lives and thoughts (and a couple have become "Twitter-friends")...Anyway, don't be a hater without trying it. Twitter is experiential...you gotta do it...
